# Method:

- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg, mixing thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet, stirring until a uniform dough forms. Divide into two discs, wrap with plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Using gingerbread house templates or cookie cutters, cut panels for walls, roofs, and doors. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until firm. Allow to cool completely.
- Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually incorporate sifted powdered sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Transfer the icing to a piping bag for assembly use.
- Arrange gingerbread pieces, assorted candies, and decorations on a large serving board or platter. Provide bowls of royal icing along with piping bags or small spatulas nearby for assembling and decorating.
- Invite guests to construct mini gingerbread houses using the pieces, icing, and candies provided, encouraging creative decoration.
- Sprinkle shredded coconut over the assembled board to mimic snow. Add fresh berries as desired to enhance visual appeal.
- Present as a festive centerpiece and enjoy the edible creations as a delightful treat.
